THE RECIPE:
Quick Marinara Sauce | Vegan & Plant Based Friendly
Canned San Marzano Tomatoes: 2, 28 oz cans
Tomato Paste: 2oz
Garlic Cloves: 3 ea
Fresh Basil: ¼ cup
Dried Oregano: 2 tsp
Red Onion Chopped: 1/2 cup
White Wine: ½ cup
Olive Oil: 1 cup
White Pepper: 1 tsp
Kosher Salt: to taste
Sugar: 1.5 tsp
In a sauce pot heat ½ cup olive oil over med flame
Add whole garlic cloves and cook until light golden brown
Add diced onion and cook until translucent
Deglaze with white wine and reduce by half
Drain canned tomatoes
Add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, and bring to a boil and once at a boil back down to a simmer, cook until acidity is gone (tart tomato flavor)
Add sugar
Take mixture off flame and let cool for 15 – 20 min
Add mixture to blender and slowly increase speed, slowly drizzle in olive oil and blend until smooth
Season with salt and white pepper
