The udu is an african drum made of clay. This model looks a little bit different comparing to the traditional udu drum. Actually the udu is a water pitcher / jar with an extra hole on the site. You play by drumming on different spots on the instrument by which you can create different sounds than. The hole in the middle you can use as a bassdrum and by playing the two holes at the same time you will get an extra special sound effect. Watch the video and you will hear it.
I made a short jamsession with the udu drum for you. Just some improvisation to get an idea of the sounds you can get out of an udu.
