Off the west coast of Africa lies the former Portuguese colony of São Tomé. The island is home to one of the most pristine equatorial forests in the world, attracting researchers keen to study its flora and fauna. The island's population is steadily increasing, piling pressure on São Tomé's natural resources. But conservationists say there's still time to act to protect this biodiversity treasure trove.
