This walnut keepsake box came out better than I could’ve hoped for! Like all woodworking it stared by milling up lumber, I milled up my 5/4 walnut stock for a final side thickness at just under 1/2”. For the side joinery I went with box joints, for the bottom panel datos and a for the top panel a rabbit. For the finish I first used a pre stain conditioner, and then applied two coats of Minwax dark walnut stain. Finally, I applied five coats of Minwax spray on satin polyurethane.
