Radicals | Barangadanga Jam Session

Hi and welcome to a Barangadanga Jam Session.

We live in a world where many people are unhappy with their lives. This feeling stems from emotional and material deprivation which, naturally, provokes reactions. One possible reaction is the desire to break completely with the current state of things, wiping the slate clean and building something new. Other people prefer to build on foundations that already exist, exploring their strengths and mitigating their flaws. At this moment, we have political power defending the idea of wiping the slate clean, and labeling as radical those who prefer to build on the existing legacy. Two of these “radicals” were recently shot dead, even though all they did was disagree and stand their ground. Renne Good, a homemaker, and Alex Pretti, a nurse — “domestic terrorists,” according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Recorded live at The Pentagon Audio Manufacturers, Loures, Portugal, the sessions will feature original musical improvisation by the resident musicians and, sometimes, very special guests! The root genre will be a mix of space rock and dub with occasional bursts of noise... or absolutely none of that.

New music will roll every Monday around 10PM GMT so sit back, relax and enjoy, whether you're a jam session and musical improvisation nut or just want a cool, laid-back soundtrack for your daily workout, self cleaning routines, dog walk, commuting, grocery shopping, studying, office work, outdoor activities, rush hour survival, car washing, road trips, dinner parties, coitus, laundry marathons and housekeeping affairs.

The Barangadanga Jam Sessions are produced by The Pentagon Audio Manufacturers under the direction of Fernando Matias and the assistance of Sérgio Barata, Nuno Garrido and Rui Pires. Vivemos num mundo onde muitas pessoas estão infelizes com a sua vida. Esta falta é provocada por carências afectivas e materiais que, naturalmente, provocam reacções. Uma das reacções possíveis é desejar quebrar totalmente com o actual estado de coisas, fazendo tábua rasa e construindo algo de novo. Outras pessoas preferem construir sobre alicerces já criados, explorando as suas qualidades e mitigando os defeitos. Neste momento temos poder político a defender a ideia da tábua rasa e a apelidar de radical quem prefere construir sobre o actual legado. Dois desses "radicais" foram recentemente mortos a tiro, sendo que aquilo que fizeram foi apenas discordar e fazer frente. Renne Good, dona de casa e Alex Pretti, enfermeiro - "terroristas domésticos" de acordo com o Ministério da Administração Interna dos EUA.

Gravado ao vivo no The Pentagon Audio Manufacturers, Loures, Portugal, as Barangadanga Jam Sessions são sessões de improvisação musical interpretadas pelos músicos residentes, por vezes com convidados muito especiais! O estilo base é uma mistura de space rock e dub com blocos ocasionais de ruído... ou absolutamente nada disso.

Música nova será lançada todas as Segundas-feiras pelas 10PM GMT por isso sente-se, relaxe e divirta-se, seja você apanhadinho da mona por jam sessions e improvisação musical ou esteja apenas à procura de uma banda sonora descontraída e despretensiosa para o seu treino diário, rotinas de autolimpeza, passeio de cão, deslocações em transportes coletivos, idas ao supermercado, estudo, trabalho de escritório, atividades ao ar livre, zenificação da hora de ponta, lavagem automóvel, viagens, jantares, cópula, maratonas de lavandaria e lida da casa.
