Reflecting on the Second Annual Violence Prevention Symposium hosted by The 100 Black Men of Atlanta, we're inspired by the impactful leadership of Co-Chairs Joshua Byrd, Larry Johnson, and Andjela Kessler. Their vision and dedication to addressing gun violence have sparked crucial conversations and strategies for real change—from bolstering community advocacy to strengthening our Office of Violence Prevention.
The symposium was a group effort between Emory University, Emory Healthcare, The Satcher Health Leadership Institute at Morehouse School of Medicine, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (The King Center) , and sponsored by Kaiser Permanente and Georgia Power Company. We thank them all for their leadership, collaboration, and financial support.
Now, we invite the community to join us on this important journey. Contribute your time, talent, and resources to drive sustainable solutions and create a safer future for our communities.
