In this tutorial for the astrology beginner I'm walking you step-by-step on how to find aspects in the natal chart. I go over what an aspect is and two different methods of recognizing aspects in a standard chart. (For reference, I used astro.com because that's a site that's free for everyone to use to get a natal chart.)

If you're not using aspects when you're looking at your planets--you're missing a huge part of how those planets will behave. Remember that you cannot isolate a single placement in a vacuum. All of your planets behave according to the influence they feel from their environment (sign) and the other planets (aspects).
