A Love Story in Two Parts, Part 1 Introduction

What is a writer to do when she gets a strange notebook in the post? Come up with an appropriately strange story to go with it, of course!

Come with me on this journey as I write a book the long way around. This book is a love story in two parts, featuring the night and the day as themes and using just about every romantasy trope I can get my hands on. I plan to work on this often throughout 2026, with the goal of completing the notebook, if not the story, by the end of the year. (Though, it would be lovely to complete the story, too!)

I am not entirely sure how best to go about sharing the story with you as I write it. Obviously, reading the handwriting through the video is a bit awkward (if not impossible given the angle at which I write, and the pen being slightly too large for my handwriting). But I would hate to make you all wait to read the story until it is complete and ready for publication! If you have any thoughts on the matter, do let me know. In the meantime, I will do some research and let you know what I decide when the next installment of this series comes out in about a month's time.

The notebook is from Archer and Olive and features a split design with blackout paper on one side and regular white dot grid paper on the other. The paper is 160gsm, and I do not remember in the slightest how many pages there are. Enough.
