The Ebel 1911 Wave el Primero came amidst the quartz crisis and was one of the watches that contributed to the re-birth of the mechanical watch in the late 1980ies. It can be called the elder brother of the Rolex Daytona (1988-2000) because like the Daytona it uses the Zenith el Primero movement. The video presents the watch, talks about it's history, shows the value enhancement from the late 1980ies to mid 1990ies and informs about today's service. It shares value information to colectors and interested audience about the pros and cons of this particular model.
Although the name "el Primero" was not used back then, however insiders knew that Zenith supplied this iconic milestone movement from it's production to Ebel during times, when Zenith was down and did practically not produce any watches at all. The watch was produced in this form roughly between 1983 and 1995, then the cooperation was stopped and Ebel started to use a modified Lemania, now called "le Moduleur" and with official chronometer papers. The success story came to an end with the new movement, the sale of Ebel to an investor and the lack of new models in 1995.
