Just nine days ago, Mark Few suffered the worst loss of his head coaching career, as the Gonzaga Bulldogs fell by 40 points to Michigan in the Players Era Festival championship. Many wondered how this Zags team would respond playing a No. 18 Kentucky team in SEC country. But Gonzaga put any doubts to rest Friday night at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
The Bulldogs blasted the Wildcats, racing out to a 19-2 lead before going on to earn a 94-59 win. The Zags’ defense suffocated Kentucky, holding the Wildcats to 27% shooting from the field and 21% from 3-point range, while the offense flexed its muscle in the 35-point victory.
