About this video:
Learn how to easily install KVM and Virt Manager on your Linux system in this step-by-step tutorial. KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is a virtualization solution for Linux that allows you to run multiple virtual machines on a single physical host. Virt Manager is a graphical user interface for managing KVM virtual machines.

First, ensure that your system meets the necessary requirements for KVM, such as a 64-bit processor with virtualization support and a Linux kernel version of 2.6.20 or higher. Next, use your package manager to install the necessary packages for KVM and Virt Manager. On Ubuntu and Debian systems, this can be done by running the command "sudo apt-get install qemu-kvm libvirt-bin virt-manager".

Once the packages have been installed, start the libvirtd daemon by running the command "sudo systemctl start libvirtd". This will enable communication between your virtual machines and the host system.

Finally, launch Virt Manager by running the command "virt-manager" in your terminal. This will open a graphical user interface that allows you to create and manage virtual machines. You can also use the command line tool "virsh" to manage virtual machines from the terminal.

With KVM and Virt Manager installed, you now have the ability to run multiple virtual machines on your Linux system. This can be useful for testing software, running older operating systems, or isolating applications from one another. Give it a try and see how it can benefit you!

Commands:
1. Check if CPU supported: $ egrep -c '(svm|vmx)' /proc/cpuinfo (expected 1 or above)
2. BIOS enable check: $ sudo apt install cpu-checker && sudo kvm-ok
3. Install KVM: $ sudo apt-get install qemu-kvm libvirt-daemon-system libvirt-clients bridge-utils virt-manager
4. Get current user: $ whoami
5. Add the user: $ sudo usermod -aG libvirt atanu && sudo usermod -aG kvm atanu (where atanu is my username)
6. Restart the PC (important)
7. Test if command works: $ virsh -c qemu:///system list (a blank list will appear)
8. Click Start ... then Virtual Machine Manager OR run virt-manager from the terminal
9. Now setup your guest OS.
