This piece was created with scissors by cutting-up the photocopied piano score of the overture from Richard Wagner’s 1836 opera “Das Liebesverbot” (”The Ban on Love”). American artist Joseph Cornell (1903-1972) was an inspiration to take up scissors and glue… The dynamics, tempo and other aspects of interpretation are left for performer’s willingness.
This recording was performed by pianist Jonathan Powell.
