DIY Apply Grease to Snowblower Auger Shafts With No Zerks (Toro PowerMAX Series)

Toro doesn't want you to do this basic maintenance procedure that EVERY other snowblower needs... adding grease to the auger blade shafts. This video will detail how to do it! The service manual for PowerMax snowblowers specifies anti-seize on the shafts, but that will quickly wash away. As you will see in the video, mine were rusted, and when I first tried spinning them, they would not move!

Text instructions:

Tip onto front
Remove black bottom cover (4 bolts 3/8" socket)
Unhook large visible spring for pulley brake
Remove bolt from end of auger drive shaft (1/2" wrench)
Remove belt from pulley and remove pulley
Remove impeller-pulley hub (triangle piece) and washer (NOTE: If this will not pull off, keep following steps)
Tip back onto floor
Remove bolts holding auger bushings (4 bolts, 1/2" socket)
If the impeller-pulley hub did not come off before, you can pull hard on the augers to pull the whole assembly out. The impeller-pulley hub and washer will fall to the floor.
Remove bolts and washer holding auger bushings (1/2" socket)
Remove shear bolt (7/16" socket and wrench)
Remove auger blade
Apply grease liberally
Replace auger blade in proper orientation, spinning as it goes on to distribute grease.
Grease bushing before reassembling
Reassemble in reverse order after greasing other shaft
