Can I beat Minecraft using the tools you throw away

I tried to beat Minecraft using only the gear everyone throws away — leather armor and wooden tools. No diamonds, no other armour and tools, just pain, cows, and splinters.
It is not scripted I know people will sus it I mean I would also, spawn in a random location but walk in the exact direction with full of structure and stronghold with nether few hundred blocks away
Believe me guys or ladies from my perspective I was also shocked, now I am yapping

Was it possible? Barely. Was it smart? Not even slightly.

Rules: No gear beyond leather & wood, no cheats.
