For 1983, the Regal continued in 2-door coupe, 4-door sedan , and station wagon offerings. T-Type replaced Regal Sport Coupe models. Engine lineup included standard (except T-Type) 3.8 liter V6, optional 4.1 liter V6 and diesel 5.7 liter V8. A 4.3 liter diesel V6 was optional on regal coupes and sedans. The T-Type was the only Regal to offer the 180 hp turbo 3.8 liter V6. Transmission offerings were 3- or 4-speed automatics. Besides turbomotor, Regal T-Type seats, sport steering wheel, Grand Touring suspension, aluminum wheels and special identification.
