So. This brick factory is OLD, 1800s, changed hands a couple times, and finally closed early 1900s. It had its own captive clay mines, with coal mines on either side of the factory. The huge waste rock pile has had hones, with WELLS, built on top, unattended settling ponds, and subsidence. In 2011 it was declared a superfine site, with millions given for its clean up, due to MANY highly toxic substances found in the ground , and water.
Not sure where those millions went. Certainly not to clean up.
Definitely plan to return, for a deeper dive.
