Australia - An expensive Tomahawk steak in Brisbane and a supercar race.

Our Brisbane weekend was one for the books! We started off with something tall, round, and impossible to miss — the Wheel of Brisbane. Standing 60 meters high on the South Bank, it gives you a bird’s-eye view of the city skyline, the river winding below, and the vibrant energy that makes Brisbane feel alive day and night. The only challenge? Trying to take a photo without blinking at the exact moment the cabin moves — easier said than done!

After floating above the city, we decided it was time to come back down to earth… and straight into the land of indulgence. Dinner was a mouthwatering Tomahawk steak — yes, the one that costs a small fortune and could double as a medieval weapon. Crispy on the outside, juicy in the middle, and weighing about as much as a toddler, it was every carnivore’s dream. We might still be recovering from both the portion size and the price tag, but it was worth every bite.

The next morning, the action shifted from sizzling steaks to roaring engines. We drove the 80 kilometers west to Queensland Raceway for the Ipswich Supercars event — the first race on this track since 2019. The sound of those V8 engines was pure music, and the excitement on the stands was contagious. There’s just something magical about the smell of burnt rubber and the sight of supercars flying by at lightning speed.

From panoramic city views to premium steak and high-octane racing, this weekend had it all — luxury, laughter, and a touch of petrol-fueled adrenaline.
