This song is about how Jesus healed a man who had been blind since birth.
John Chapter 9:1-12.
His disciples asked him if the man's blindness was a result of his own sin or his parents' sin.
Jesus replied that the man's condition was not due to sin, but so "that the works of God might be displayed in him."
After saying this, Jesus spat on the ground, made some mud with the saliva and dirt, and spread the mud over the man's eyes.
Jesus then told the man, "Go, wash in the Pool of Siloam" (which means "Sent").
The man went, washed the mud from his eyes, and came back seeing.
