At Christmas, we remember not only that Jesus came, but how He came. Philippians 2 tells us that the eternal Son of God “emptied Himself”—kenosis—not by losing His divinity, but by laying aside His divine privileges and taking on the limitations of humanity.
And here is the wonder: He didn’t just put on humanity for a moment… He kept it for eternity.
Right now—this very second—Jesus reigns in heaven as fully God and fully Man. The scars of His sacrifice still testify that He permanently attached Himself to us so we could be forever attached to Him.
Christmas is the reminder that the humility of His manger led to the sacrifice of His cross… and both point to a Savior who chose to become like us so we could become like Him.
This season, let the miracle of His self-giving love draw your heart into worship—He came low so we could be lifted high.
