Guatapé is an Andean resort town in northwest Colombia, east of Medellín. It’s known for its houses decorated with colorful bas-reliefs. It sits by the vast, man-made Peñol-Guatapé Reservoir, a busy water-sports center. Today, it serves as a popular tourist destination and is famous worldwide for its beautiful lake– which is often called the "Pearl of Antioquia". Guatape is Antioquia's cutest colonial town, and offers amazing nightlife and even better sunrise and sunset views over the Guatape reservoir.
