They look like leather but they are not! Bicycle tubes are made of a material that is tough and waterproof and longlasting... And when punctured and flat they are useless, but here is a way in which they can be transformed and re-imagined and useful again.
This workshop shows how to turn the material into a simple statement necklace. The whole process is very easy, for beginners in particular.
Inner rubber tubes are very easy to cut – they are so soft, so can be cut to any shape. Here they are cut into simple circles in a few different diameters. Also, if natural charcoal black doesn’t suit, it is possible to paint them with acrylics, to add some colour.
