Professor Sarah Brown, Director of York Glaziers Trust, explains the history of York Minster's 'S5' window.
S5 is an unusual window dating from the late 14th century which we think can be attributed to John Berg, a rather mysterious figure from that time, but which also showcases repairs from the 1830s following a disastrous fire.
The newly conserved window is being revealed throughout January as the team work to carefully remove the scaffolding that has allowed them to access this great treasure.
