Skipper Tony pilots the Wyre Estuary Ferry from Fleetwood across to Knott End on 15 October 2013. The distance by land from the two points is 16 miles but the Ferry goes across in about 3 minutes. There is a time span of three hours at low tide when the ferry can not operate. Tony told me that there is a 10 metre difference between low and high water. Watch how they clean the mud off the slipway to allow passengers to walk on and off.
