Teenage Dad On His Estate is a song by Morrissey that first appeared as a B-side to the single First Of The Gang To Die in July 2004 and later as a track on the Morrissey Swords album.
The song was written and composed by Morrissey and Alain Whyte and was produced by Jerry Finn.
Morrissey is the co-founder, former front-man, lyricist and joint composer for the seminal English band The Smiths. Since the groups break-up in 1987 Morrissey has remained an internationally renowned and successful solo artist.
This video is made using clips taken from various documentaries which focused on living conditions in UK Council estates. Other elements have been created using KingAI.
I like to think of this song as a companion piece to the Morrissey song Slum Mums. This video contains several subtle visual references to Morrissey and The Smiths, If you spot any let me know in the comments.
If you look hard enough at this video you may find:
a punctured bicycle on a hillside (desolate)
a shoe-less child on a swing (reminds you of your own again)
a rented room in Whalley Range (what do we get for our trouble and pain)
a sad veiled bride (please be happy)
a train going by (making a sad sound)
a baby wrapped up in the news of the world (and dumped on a doorstep, girl)
Morrissey on the TV (twice)
Smiths graffiti
Morrissey graffiti
Did you spot them all?
