Tanea Brooks (AEW’s Rebel) diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Tanea Brooks (Rebel) shared an emotional and serious health update with her followers today, revealing she has been diagnosed with primary pulmonary lymphoma, a form of cancer in the lungs.

This diagnosis comes after a challenging year. Brooks was originally hospitalized in May 2024 for what doctors believed was cryptococcal pneumonia. After a year on antifungal medication with no improvement, she sought a second opinion at the Mayo Clinic, where she received the correct diagnosis.

“They found that it was not cryptococcal pneumonia this whole time,” Brooks said. “And that it is primary pulmonary lymphoma, which is cancer in the lungs.”

Brooks also shared that this health journey has led to a secondary condition: “I have picked up a little disorder called functional neurological disorder, and it has taken my ability to walk. I now walk with a walker, and my ability to speak clearly... I’ve also lost the... function... of my right hand.”She is set to begin an aggressive, full-time rehabilitation program to regain function. Before she can begin her cancer treatment, she must first clear a separate, “very serious infection” that she is currently treating with IV antibiotics.

Brooks is asking for prayers and support as she begins her rehab and prepares for her cancer treatment, which she hopes will begin in early 2026. 🙏
