In this lecture, we continue discussing the problem of curve fitting with least-squares regression. We describe the polynomial and multiple linear least-squares regression methods, after which we present the general formulation of linear least-squares regression problem. Finally, we describe the Gauss-Newton method for nonlinear regression.
This video was created to accompany the course "Computational Physics (PHYS 270)" taught in the spring of 2017 at Nazarbayev University.
