“A House Is Not A Home” was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David in 1964. This stunning seven-minute recording by Luther Vandross was featured on his 1981 studio album “Never Too Much”. The track, which was originally recorded by Dionne Warwick and Brook Benton became one of Vandross's signature songs.
Burt Bacharach career began in 1950 and ended in 2023. At the beginning of his career, he was the arranger and conductor for the great Marlene Dietrich and her world tours in the 60s. He received six Grammy Awards, three Academy Awards, and one Emmy Award. He has gained iconic status as one of the most influential American song writers of the 20th century. Over 1,000 artists have recorded Bacharach's songs. These include Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield, Cilla Black, The Carpenters, Christoper Cross and many others. Many of his songs were collaborations with Hal David, other include Christopher Cross, Peter Allen and Carole Bayer Sager. Enjoy!
