FROM PEAKS TO POUCHES: Mount Cook, Lake Tekapo & Tame Wallabies! [NEW ZEALAND ROAD TRIP 🇳🇿]

Ready for a week of wild adventures, unreal views, and surprise animal encounters? Buckle up — we’re road-tripping through New Zealand’s South Island and heading to the east coast, and it’s straight-up magical.

We kicked things off camping by the insanely blue 💙 Lake Pukaki, followed by a swim so cold it basically rebooted my soul (Wim Hof who?)❄️. Then came the Hooker Valley Track hike — swing bridges, glacier rivers, and mountain views that looked totally fake (but weren’t🤯) 🏔️✨.

Next: Lake Tekapo — with water so turquoise it hurts your eyes and night skies filled with more stars than you can count 🌌💫.

We also stumbled into Burkes Pass, a tiny town with major personality — think vintage Americana meets quirky Kiwi charm 🇺🇸🏡. It’s got retro gas pumps, old-school signs, and a wild mix of collectibles and cowboy vibes that feel like you’ve time-traveled to Route 66 (but with more sheep).

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better… we camped with a wild seal (yes, seriously) 🦭.

But the real stars of the trip? The tame rescue wallabies we got to hand-feed and hang out with — and yes, they were the sweetest, fluffiest, snack-loving little legends ever 🦘🥕. They even held our hands while eating. My heart = melted🫶
