Gejje Pooje is a ceremony in Bharatanatyam, where a dancer receives the gejje (anklet bells) from their guru, marking the beginning of a dancer's journey. It signifies the formal initiation into the world of dance and is a significant milestone for the dancer.
This act symbolises the guru's blessings and the dancer's acceptance of the responsibility to uphold the art form. Dharshita Shree CK of Grade 9C, a student of Vaishnavi Natyashala, achieved this remarkable feat and received her Gejje Pooje on the 15th of June 2025 at the Adaranga Mandira.
