Rob Stolker takes his audience through an unpredictable, inspiring journey of inventing and creating the first ever certified girls' lacrosse headgear. This powerful story shows the magnitude of how he learned from personal experience that passion outsmarts knowledge. The truth is Rob knew nothing about making headgear or even lacrosse. However he always believed he was doing the right thing for the future of women’s sports, on and off the field that would impact generations to come. Fueled by passion and the love of his daughters, Rob delivers a message everyone who has kids in athletics needs to hear. Rob Stolker began his career in day trading, continued into real estate development, and eventually started a successful solar panel installation company. However, inventing the first ever certified girls' lacrosse headgear for his four amazing, athletic daughters has been his life's most important achievement. But, creating the headgear was just the beginning. Rob’s passionate mission is to ensure all girls have access to and wear protective headgear so they can create safer athletic experiences and pave the way for future generations. Having met families who have suffered, the impact will be game-changing. Rob is proof that passion outsmarts knowledge. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
