Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein Arcade - Hayato

In the epic battle of the Final Crusade that had occurred from within last year, Hayato Kanzaki had slayed the evil Dr. Edward Bilstein and brought the end of the Fourth Empire's terror and destruction throughout the entire universe. The fall of the Fourth Empire and the death of its leader were momentous occasions of last year and that it had signaled the restoration of peace and happiness, but all is not well from within the universe.

Rumors have been circulating about the unexpected return of Bilstein in a new cybernetic body, as well as the appearance of a ghost who eerily looks like Bilstein's old cybernetic body. At the same time, the Fourth Empire has taken the opportunity in rebuilding its strong forces and that the loyal members of the organization are quite determined to carry out Bilstein's evil will of eliminating those who stand in the way of their emperor's universal conquest.

Hayato, June, Saturn, and Gamof soon realize that the malevolent threat of Bilstein is far from over and that the four of them must head back into the relentless fight in order to defeat Bilstein and the Fourth Empire once and for all. However, the quartet is not alone from within their second battle as they have new friends to assist them from within the inevitable conflict, such as their former enemy turned ally Zelkin, an extremely strong Japanese military war soldier named Gantetsu, a noble and aspiring American superhero named Eagle, and a mysterious yet cheerful young Japanese rhythmic gymnast named Ele. Hayato and his friends will find themselves heading back into the hard ordeal as Star Gladiators, Fourth Empire members, and neutral parties will be thrust into a war that will determine the fate of not only the Earth, but the entire universe.

The Nightmare of Bilstein has now begun...

One year later from within the events of Plasma Sword (Star Gladiator 2), Hayato has become a successful bounty hunter and has settled down with June, spending his days peacefully in rebuilding the orphanage with the bounties he has earned. One day after coming back home from another successful bounty hunting mission, Hayato is shocked to hear and learn that June has suddenly disappeared and that his friends had told him on what had happened. Realizing that Bilstein, who had shockingly and surprisingly returned from his supposed "death" at the end of the Final Crusade, is behind the unexpected situation, Hayato sets out to find June and to finish things with Bilstein once and for all.

Hayato's fighting style appears to make use of an unknown school of Kenjutsu, while also utilizing hand to hand attacks like kicks, punches, and headbutts for a versatile form of combat apparently derived from his experience as a bounty hunter.

Hayato can be considered the "Ryu" of the roster, being a balanced character with moves and attacks that can handle head on and direct offensives while conditioning foes through psychology and distancing, and with a variety movepool that can mix up his output. Despite his reliance on his Plasma Blade, his Plasma Combos bear greater adaptability, interactivity, and balance, from not just his A and B attacks but to kicks, with a greater deal of 5 hit strings and general strings.

In Plasma Sword, Hayato has been revamped to be a more speedy and agile fighter with an emphasis on punishing mistakes and off balance vulnerabilities; his A and B special moves gain aura effects that slightly increase their range, while his movement speed is made much faster to allow him to zero in on his opponents. To make up for his lack of a projectile move, his Engetsu attack is reworked to be a Hyper Plasma Combo that unleashes an energy wave that travels on the ground, and his Plasma Field provides a constant Shurado effect that expands his Plasma Blade into a large form and allows him to toss out slicing waves with every attack performed during the effect.

Overall, Hayato is centered vastly on speedy sword strikes, close range blows, and steady streams of combos, but he requires a great deal of tactical familiarity and practice with his moves to ensure he is able to cover other fields of combat to setup his rushdowns and meet his full potential.
