Micro Tugboat 9, Nep'Toon IS SOLD!!

The micro tugboat Nep'Toon has been sold, but I'll leave the description here for reference.

I honestly never thought I would even think about selling this, but I've been on it twice this year, and with the bigger boat up in Door County, we take every opportunity to go up there, and my awesome little tugboat just sits in the garage. If you want something SUPER unique and SPECIAL at the boat ramp and on the lake, this IS the boat to have. If there is anyone at the ramp, YOU WILL BE DELAYED in launching it because this thing attracts attention like nothing else I've ever owned (yes, even more than that hot little sports car you thought was the apple of everyone's eyes). You will be flagged down on the lake for people to look at it...it's pretty much the star of any body of water it sits on.

I've had it in the Geneva Lake boat show, cruised on Geneva Lake, it's been up to Door County and in Sturgeon Bay several times, as well as regularly being on a couple of small lakes close to home, including my home lake, Pike Lake...well, at least it was last year. It will handle 2-3' seas with ease (though you'll bounce around a bit!), but take this out on a nice day and you'll float the day away with drinks in hand (yes, it has 4 cupholders).

This is a built from scratch boat using a set of plans from Berkley Engineering. I didn't make any modifications from the plans, and built it with a 70lb thrust electric trolling motor from MinnKota. It has a 24 volt and 12 volt system, completely separate from one another. The 24 volt system is just for the motor, and is fuse protected, as well as switch protected when not in use. The 12 volt system is for the horn, nav lights, and bilge pump. The center bench where the fishing seats are mounted is full of marine flotation foam for better bouyance.

The trolling motor is modified according to plans where the control head is up front and uses traditional tiller steering. The motor is mounted under the stern and is connected with a push-pull tube to the front control head. I have spent 5-6 hours out on the lake over the course of 3 days one time and batteries never went below 70%...it has all day endurance, and we had it up in Sturgeon Bay for 5 days, ran it almost everyday and didn't charge it until we got home.

It is painted and lettered to resemble the John Purves 100+ year old tugboat up at the Door County Maritime Museum. The quality of the finish was intentionally done to resemble a working steel hull tugboat...I wanted the wrinkles in the finish, the flat white interior, a non-skid deck and roof...it all works so nicely that people actually think they are looking at a mini steel-hulled boat. It's awesome.

The trailer is a Harbor Freight utility trailer that I modified and converted to a boat trailer with two bunks and side guides. Trailer lighting is LED. The tongue of the trailer was professionally welded and then I mounted it to the original trailer frame to give additional turning clearance. It uses a 4 wire blade plug for lighting.

This is going to be hard for me to sell as I LOVE being on the lake on this boat...but it isn't getting any use and we are looking at upgrading the bigger boat to an even bigger boat. :o)
