From the very first time I head Linda Clifford's 'Red Light', I was hooked and I am just as enamored with it 38 years on! It is just a really fantastic pop/dance/disco record. A combination of clever songwriting from Dean Pitchford and Michael Gore; production by the latter and the kick ass vocals of Linda Clifford, this track from the 'Fame' soundtrack was somewhat eclipsed by the Oscar winning title song, but 'Red Light' was a #1 on the dance chart, but just missed the Top 40 (#41). For me it is a classic and I have used what little footage there is of Ms Clifford performing the track on 'Solid Gold' with some stills of the gorgeous lady. The mix here is from the uber talented Glenn Rivera and his ReStructure Extended Version. There's so much to love here, and it's an extra three minutes on top of the album version. Bellissimo!
