The Honda Civic (Japanese: Honda Shibikku) is a line of cars manufactured by Honda. Originally a subcompact, the Civic has gone through several generational changes, becoming both larger and more upmarket and moving into the compact car segment. The eighth generation of the Honda Civic was introduced in September 2005, for the 2006 model year. This generation introduced the "two-tier" instrument panel. In the Asian, Pakistan, Indian, Russian, South African and Middle East, Canary Islands: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria markets, the new Civic has slight but noticeable styling differences from the American version. While the arcing line sweeping across the front fascia is retained, the main headlights dip away from the main arc for a more sporty appearance.
