Another ride out, walk back. This time I'm going out from Exeter as far as Dawlish and then walking back along the sea wall to Starcross. I only had a couple of hours for the walk, but if you want to carry on from Starcross, the Exe Estuary trail will take you all the way back to Exeter.
This route takes in one of the most scenic stretches of UK mainline as we enjoy views of the Exe Estuary and then carry on to see the English Channel.
Departure: Exeter St David's
Destination: Dawlish
Distance: 12 miles (19 km)
Cost: £3.60 2nd class off peak return with Railcard discount
