During our Prague winter vacation in 2026, we took a memorable day trip to the historic town of Kutná Hora, home to few most fascinating and unique landmarks in Europe — the Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady and St. John the Baptist (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the world-famous Sedlec Ossuary, also known as the Bone Church.
The Sedlec Ossuary is unlike any other place in the world, where the bones of over 50,000 human skeletons are artistically arranged to form chandeliers, decorations, and even a detailed coat of arms. Just steps away, the magnificent Sedlec Cathedral reflects Kutná Hora’s historic wealth and spiritual importance through its breathtaking architecture and restoration.
