COVID-19 Pandemic: Life as a Nursing Student

It’s been a crazy few weeks, and I haven’t posted anything because I didn’t really know if it was my place to talk about anything COVID-19 related. But I thought I’d at least upload something, even if it is just to keep some sort of record/documentation about what’s going on.

This past week USYD has moved all lectures and tutorials online, although nursing labs are still going ahead face to face (at the moment). There was a lot of speculation around whether our clinical placements would still go ahead. So far one of mine has been confirmed, but still waiting to hear back about the second. Australia is (slowly) introducing lockdowns, essential services are still up and running. I’m still working (for now), which I am very grateful for. This is my last year of nursing school, still aiming to graduate and become registered at the end of the year.

Just have to take things day by day. Stay safe, wash your hands, and remember social distancing is cool now.
