MORGAN Hoffman was astounded when a reel she made about her daughter and motherhood went viral. Morgan and her husband Matt welcomed their little one, Brooklyn, into the world 10 months ago and have been enjoying family life since. Morgan is black, Matt is white and their daughter is biracial. Morgan said: “When she was born she looked most like Matt… She’s starting to look like me in terms of, she’s starting to get a little bit of a tan…” The mother-of-one received negative and nasty comments on her content that accused her of lying about being Brooklyn’s biological mum. Morgan said: “Someone else said they might have switched babies at the hospital and given us the wrong baby and they said that still happens.” They also received a lot of racist comments. Morgan said: “It’s just the skin colour they’re getting hung up on.” Matt added: “It’s very eye-opening… It takes you back, it hurts.” But she has also received comments and messages from other parents of biracial children thanking her for shedding a light on this. Matt said: “She knows who she is, what she does for Brooklyn - the most important thing is just to rise above it - be confident in who you are and what you do on a daily basis.”
