October 28, 2016, Angel Darlene Fiorini became a true symbol of selfless love and bravery. When a fire broke out in her Newman Lake, Washington, home, she rushed her two youngest children to safety—but her 7-year-old daughter Gianna was still trapped inside.

Without hesitation, Angel crawled through thick smoke and blistering heat to reach her daughter. She nearly made it to the door when she lost consciousness. But then—hope arrived. A passerby and registered nurse, Matthew Paul Burson, risked his life to rescue them both.

Both Angel and Gianna survived, but not without scars. Angel spent weeks in the hospital, suffering from severe burns and lung damage. Yet her strength, love, and sacrifice left a legacy that continues to inspire.
