In this video I begin the process of creating an initial concept rear frame for this project, adding brackets, pressings and tubes for strengthening and the various interactions the frame will have with other components on the bike.
At this point, bracketry and weldnuts for the fitment of other components have not been included, these will come with further development of the model.

Tubular frames are probably the most simple to model, the most likely frame to be built by hobby frame builders, and due to the low cost and higher rate of production compared to other more "premium" frames, we are seeing all manufactures adopting tubular designs more often these days.

The downside that you may have with a tubular frame is the increased number of parts within the fabrication leading to increased tolerance stacks, as a result you would usually expect a poorer quality fit and finish. A lot of preparation is required to squeeze these tolerances down, from designing the frame in a way to reduce tolerances such as optimizing weld locations and the number of bends in tubes and brackets, to the positional tolerances of parts relative to each other to ensure a minimum tolerance stack for critical parts. There is also the expensive fixtures used for welding the fabrications.

As manufacturers develop their experience with all these factors, we can expect to see lower budget motorcycles such as those with tubular frames featuring a much higher quality fit and finish, with the exception of higher quality materials.
