Heydar Yaghma (also known as Heydar Yaghma, 1926–March 1986) was a Persian-language poet born into a rural, working-class family near Nishapur, Iran. Illiterate in his youth, he began composing and reciting poetry in his thirties, later teaching himself to read and write—an exceptional feat for someone of his background. His verses, deeply rooted in the experiences of laborers and the simplicity of village life, are renowned for their plainspoken style, rich emotional depth, and rejection of academic poetic conventions . Yaghma died in Nishapur in 1986 and was interred beside the historic Shadiyakh site—a place of significant cultural heritage
