SCCA Hall of Famer Randy Pobst takes the wheel of a true one-off machine — the 2005 Ford Mustang GT “CSR‑69” — a car built by the legendary Kenny Brown Performance in Indiana for the SEMA show, and designed to showcase just how far a Mustang’s potential can be pushed. This isn’t your typical S197. From the moment Randy fires it up and hits the road, he’s already talking about how sharp, planted, and confidence-inspiring the car feels, even before reaching full throttle. With his decades of racing experience, Randy’s impressions give real insight into what makes this car special.
After the initial drive, Randy pulls the car into the shop and gets it up on a lift to see what’s underneath — and the details don’t disappoint. He walks us through the extensive chassis and suspension upgrades, including Kenny Brown’s AGS‑4.0 system, tubular control arms, adjustable coil‑overs, subframe connectors, and a full set of jacking rails. This car has been stiffened and braced in all the right ways. It’s clear Kenny’s philosophy of building the chassis to do the work — not relying on just horsepower — shines through here. You’ll also see upgraded Brembo front brakes, long-tube headers, a high-flow X‑pipe, aluminum radiator, and serious attention to performance cooling and control.
Randy then pulls off the road again for a closer look at the exterior. The bodywork is wild — a retro-inspired transformation that blends elements of the 1969 fastback Mustang with the newer GT platform. From the widened fenders and functional hood scoop to the aggressive front fascia and the Forgeline ZX3R wheels wrapped in fat Pirelli P-Zero Corsas (295s up front, 315s in the rear), this car turns heads before you even hear it.
More than just a show car, this CSR‑69 was Kenny Brown’s personal rolling lab for high-performance upgrades, and Randy gives it the kind of thorough evaluation only a pro racer can deliver. If you’re a fan of SEMA builds, custom Mustangs, or just love seeing a master driver explore what a serious street/track car can do, this is a video you don’t want to miss.
