In this video we will show the ENTIRE troubleshooting and repair process on a vintage 1970s guitar pedal - the Big Muff Pi. This one was completely dead, not passing any signal when switched ON. We will fix that issue and then fix the issue of extremely LOW OUTPUT, LOW VOLUME, which seems to be a common thing with many of these 70s Big Muffs. We will look at the BC239 transistor and 1N4148 clipping diode circuit and schematic along the way and discuss what many of the circuit components do and how they work to shape the sound. Finally, in our usual fashion, we will demo the completed pedal through my Dinosaur solid state bench amp, because it's kinda funny.
