Japan Diaries Vlog | Shinjuku, Odaiba, Ghibli Museum, Shin-Okubo

Hello everyone! In this vlog, I take you through Shinjuku to see some iconic sights. We even come across a Japanese idol group performance! Then, we went to explore Shin-Okubo, which is Japan's Koreatown in Tokyo. Most of the stores sold Korean beauty products and K-Pop goods. After a while, it was kind of repetitive because I feel like most of the stores sold the same beauty products and the K-Pop goods were mostly unofficial, yet they were quite expensive! I guess you really have to go to South Korea to get cheap merch from your favorite idol groups 😅

You know what I have always wondered as we traveled in Japan? The amount of people wearing business suits in the subway never changes. I mean, in the city, you'd usually see these people during rush hour because they're going to or leaving work, but in Japan, there are always a lot of them in the subway even in the afternoon! My friend and I always wondered why they weren't at work!

Anyway, we also went to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka since my friend is a big Ghibli fan. Unfortunately, we could only spend 2 hours because I managed to get tickets for 4 PM. I felt like we were being rushed because they were closing at 6 PM, so I would advise allotting 4 hours of exploring time. There are a lot of things to do here! My favorite was watching the exclusive Ghibli film. It was only 15 minutes, but it was absolutely adorable! It was about a water spider taking an interest in a water strider. I was kind of nervous to see that the main character is a spider because I hate spiders, but I ended up falling for its charms! The premise of the film somewhat reminded me of The Little Mermaid! It was so cute that I purchased a pin of the spider from the museum's gift shop hehe.
