My longplay of the 1995 DOS point and click adventure game Lost Eden by Cryo Interactive. This is the GOG version of the game. I can't say I'd ever even heard of this game until I happened to see it listed on the GOG store. Evidently the game was also released on the amazing CD-i and 3DO systems. I'm kind of sad that I missed out on the music from this game when it was originally in stores, I was really jamming to it and it's definitely the highlight of the game for me. The voiced lines sounded like they were peaking a lot of the time. I made some adjustments to how I'm recording the sound to keep that from being amplified even more, but there wasn't a lot I could do to counter it since it's actually how it sounds when the game is being played. The game UI is a little weird with the spinning cube as your pointer that changes icons depending on what you can do. There's also a number of what I'll call chores that you have to repeat across the various areas, which is kind of disappointing instead of having new things to do at each site. The puzzles/activities you have to do in the game are largely pretty straight forward, I think I only really got kind of stuck at one point for a little bit on my first playthrough of this. I haven't tried any other versions of the game, but the GOG one has a weird problem where the Restart button doesn't work and the game basically gets locked and you have to force DOSBOX to close if you reach a game over screen since it can't restart the game. Overall the games story was kind of interesting and I'm glad I got to play this. As far as I can tell, the audio files are all stored inside of a large DAT file in the games directory. If I ever feel ambitious enough, I may look into some way of extracting the audio files so I can directly play them.

I threw together a quick overlay for recording this one, I think I might try to do that for more games that aren't 16:9 in the future so there'll be something besides just black bars on the sides of the screen.
