O SOLE MIO
"'O sole mio" is a well-known Neapolitan song written in 1898. Its Neapolitan language lyrics were written by Giovanni Capurro and the music was composed by Eduardo di Capua (1865–1917) and Alfredo Mazzucchi (1878–1972). The title translates literally as "my sun" or "my sunshine". The lyrics have been translated to other languages.
Here Ricardo did his version of the arrangement of this beautiful piece of music. The swinging sway of the melody portrayed in single notes and thirds on the strings brings a very unique perspective creating a pleasant repertoire. Changing keys midway through the song also speaks volumes how Ricardo’s versatility and immense knowledge of the guitar prevailed in all of his music. He was a true, talented guitar player.
