Installing the newly released unreal engine 5.2.0 is a breeze now on Mac OS using Apple silicon, you do not need to build from source. You Just need Xcode and a few simple steps.

I also tested this process using Xcode 13.4.1 and 5.1.1 using an Intel mac on Mac OS 12.

This video shows all the steps from install to package to running the game standalone and also shows Unreal running on an M1 Macbook Air on epic low & cinematic settings and the resulting performance and FPS.
