Brilliant young producer and D.J. HUIE has remixed Jane Rutter's flute & didgeridoo meditation version of The Last Post. Paul Boon didgeridoo. With quotes from Aboriginal Language and poet Adam Lindsay Gordon, The aim in releasing this remix is:
To pay tribute to the fallen, particularly First Nations Australian soldiers (who have served Australia for over 100 years)
To contextualise and make relevant Anzac Day for younger generations
Jane Rutter's grandfather John Noble Shipton was decorated in both World Wars and was in the Light Horse Brigade, wounded at Gallipoli he continued serving until his retirement.
The track was made and produced with the greatest respect to diggers (ANZAC soldiers) and their families... it's a topic close to Jane's heart
'Let me slumber in the hollow where the wattle blossoms wave, With never stone or rail to fence my bed' Quote from the Sick Stock Rider by Adam Lindsay Gordon
Translation of Language at the end:
'Respect to me. Respect to you. Respect to all...'
(Alex) HUIE is the son of Jane Rutter's colleague guitarist / composer John Huie (The POSH, Third Culture World Chamber Music)
