1957（民國46）年 頭目巴佳里奴克家族
遷移至大後溪與內社溪會合處之左岸河階上居住
為一線形集居式聚落
部落有成立社區發展協會,居民三分之二信仰天主教、基督教
保存原住民傳統文化特色
尤其傳統服飾製作及改良雕塑藝品更能表現出原住民的才華
由於2009年的莫拉克颱風以及2010年的凡那比颱風的影響
原居地被納入危險區域
大約有三分之一的居民
遷往屏東縣新埤鄉萬隆村「新來義部落」居住
現今部落除了發展生態及觀光旅遊外
並種植並推廣有機農作物
