Today, I start my journey from Sevok as I head towards Sikkim for the first time! The drive was mesmerizing, with monkeys on the roadside and stunning views along the way. I stopped near the Teesta River, where the water had a beautiful greenish hue, and enjoyed a hot plate of Maggi before continuing my adventure.
As I drove further, I witnessed breathtaking scenery with clouds all around and even experienced light snowfall The temperature dropped to 1°C, making the journey even more exciting. Reaching an elevation of 3,900 meters, I made a stop at Nathang Valley village, where the snowfall had just stopped, leaving behind a magical winter landscape.
I continued driving along the scenic roads and stopped at an Indian Army café, where I enjoyed a warm coffee. Nearby, I visited the Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, a place of great historical and spiritual significance. Stepping outside, I spotted yaks grazing in the cold, a truly surreal experience at 4,142 meters elevation.
Finally, I arrived at Nathang Valley, where I struggled to find a homestay as most were fully booked. But in the end, a kind uncle and aunty welcomed me into their home. I had a cup of tea with them and settled in for the night.
The next morning, I had an interesting conversation with a local uncle, who shared fascinating stories about the region's history. Stay tuned for my next video, where I continue to explore more of Sikkim!
